SYMPTOMS POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY

Prints light or hard to read text Batteries are low Insert New batteries See: Inserting Batteries
Some words aren't being recognized when I say them Items are not in the Smartshopper library See adding custom items to the library
Some words aren't being recognized when I say them The item is in the library, but Voice recognition needs additional training If it is in the booklet and the unit fails to recognize it, you can train Smartshopper using your own voice. See: improving item recognition
Won't Print Paper jam Remove and reinsert paper roll.
Prints blank pages Paper inserted incorrectly Remove paper roll, flip paper, reinsert roll.
Voice recognition is not working Microphone settings not adjusted correctly Select a different microphone setting from the setup menu
Screen is always blank Batteries are dead Replace batteries
Screen is blank, batteries are new Batteries not inserted correctly Remove and re-insert batteries, See: inserting batteries
Magnets won't stick to my refrigerator Refrigerator is stainless steel or other non-magnetic material Use wall mounting kit instead. See wall mounting instructions
The screen appears to be "frozen" The unit is locked up Re-set by pressing the down arrow and the help button at the same time. If the unit is still locked up, Remove the batteries, wait 3 minutes and re-insert them. This will re-set your unit without losing any stored information.
