SmartShopper Electronics, Inc. announced they will debut their "SmartShopper" grocery list assistant at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show(CES) in Las Vegas, January 8-11. Using state of the art voice recognition, the device allows the user to simply push a button and say the name of items they will need at the grocery store. The items are displayed on an LCD and the list prints right from the unit on a thermal paper roll. The list prints by category, allowing for faster, more efficient shopping. In addition, common errands like "car wash", "dry cleaners", "bank", etc. can be input. The SmartShopper comes with over 2500 items pre loaded and consumers can add their own unique items or brands to the master library. Items include groceries as well as health and beauty products, cleaning supplies, school and office supplies and all other items found at the grocery store. Users can even designate a quantity or flag an item they have a discount coupon for!
The SmartShopper device is also entered into the Innovative Product of the Year Awards Program at the CES. Many top electronic products from the past have made their debut at this show including VCR's, DVD players and Satellite Radio and TV. The show is attended by over 140,000 international visitors representing buyers, manufacturers and personnel affiliated with the consumer electronics industry. The SmartShopper will be on display at booth IP-151 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
The initial release of SmartShopper will be for English Speaking. The company plans to follow this up with additional languages in the future. There are also plans for additional releases such as SmartShopper Home Improvement. This unit will be for the "do it yourselfer" and contain items found at the hardware and home improvement stores. Company founders Rick Brindisi and Greg Vittardi will be on hand at the show in Las Vegas to personally greet interested parties.
