TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
VOICE RECOGNITION
Items are not being recognized when I say them.
  • Cause: The microphone settings not adjusted correctly.
  • Solution: Select a different mic setting from the setup menu.

  • Cause: Voice recognition needs additional training.
  • Solution: If it is in the booklet and the unit fails to recognize it, you can train Smartshopper using your own voice.

  • Cause: Items are not in the Smartshopper library.
  • Solution: Add a custom item to the SmartShopper library.

PRINTING ISSUES
The list is very light or difficult to read.
The list will not print or it is blank.
  • Cause: There is a paper jam
  • Solution: Remove and reinsert paper roll.

  • Cause: The paper is inserted incorrectly
  • Solution: Remove paper roll, flip paper, reinsert roll.

DEVICE MALFUNCTION
The screen is always blank.
  • Cause: The batteries are dead.
  • Solution: Replace the batteries with new ones.

  • Cause: The batteries not inserted correctly.
  • Solution: Remove and re-insert the batteries.
The screen appears to be "frozen"
  • Cause: The unit is locked up.
  • Solution: Re-set by pressing the down arrow and the help button at the same time. If the unit is still locked up, Remove the batteries, wait 3 minutes and re-insert them. This will re-set your unit without losing any stored information.
OTHER ISSUES
The magnets won't stick to my refrigerator
  • Cause: Your refrigerator is stainless steel or another non-magnetic material.
  • Solution: Use wall mounting kit instead.
